A meta-analysis re-analysing 10 eye-tracking experiments found an early, brief same-partner advantage for kept names (from about 200 ms, peaking at 450 ms, gone by 700 ms), a later different-partner advantage when a name was abandoned (reliable from 800 ms), and a partner-specificity index averaging 55% (range 44 to 67%), meaning roughly half of the benefit of a shared name is tied to the particular partner
